Where can you make or buy toys for my pet chickens?

They like Spring Cabbages, hung up just a little bit higher than their heads so they have to jump up and get them, or Broccoli and Sweetcorn also hung up is liked.
They do not appreciate toys, but the greens etc gives them something to do.

I wouldn’t buy things if I were you, but there are things that you’d already have – like tying up bunches of hay (with the kernals) and hanging them from the ceiling, or hanging old cds, and give them cooked corn on the cob which will keep them happy for hours! Or, you know those dog toys, they’re like balls but you put food inside? Give the chickens one of those filled with corn.

I would not give them anything plastic or anything tiny because they will eat anything shiny or bright. Chickens don’t need toys but will entertain themselves. I raise chickens and they are very content being chickens.Tthey don’t need toys like a dog or cat.

My chickens liked to eat the berries of privet hedges, and after the lower branches were picked clean, they would jump and flap their wings to reach higher branches. I think it was good exercise for them.

If you let your cackler outside, it may do that way with what ever grows in your yard. Make sure she doesn’t have access to poisonous berries, but then, who would have thought privet berries were edible?

If you can’t safely let her into the yard, try to find something edible you can hang high up enough so she can jump for it, where ever she lives.
